Letters Against Depression is run ENTIRELY on volunteer labor.
No one is paid a salary or individually benefits from these funds.
ALL donations go to the running of this charity organization.
Donations help pay for the website fees, postage, supplies, organizational fees, etc.
All donations are Tax Deductible, as we are a 501c3 charity. What does that mean?
That means if you give us cash or supplies you can most likely write it off during tax season. We try to make it easy for you.
If you click below, you can donate cash directly to us. Cash is great because it helps us pay for direct needs. For example, we use cash to pay for hosting this website, hosting our Volunteer Portal, sending out specialty holiday cards, and buying envelopes and stamps.
Our website is easy to use and accepts both credit and direct payments. You can set up a recurring donation directly and help us out even more by paying the transaction fee. At the end of the year, we will send you a receipt for your records of all cash donations made through our website.

You can choose Letters Against Depression as your organization! In previous years, we have made a good dent in our budget through the generosity of friends. We can’t thank people enough for contributing to our cause. Spreading the word has helped us immensely. Every birthday matters, just like each person matters.

INTERNET MAKES IT EASIER THAN EVER TO HELP US GET SUPPLIES
Do you know our biggest expenses is stamps? Our goal for 2023 is to sent 15,000 letters!
You can donate stamps to us by having them sent directly from the United States Postal Service. We love getting fun stamps to celebrate different times of the year. Colorful, meaningful, joyful stamps make our letters more engaging and fun for recipients, but we won’t stay no to standard stamps either!! Please be aware that nondenominational stamps are the best as they can be used for everyone.
We also accept international stamps. We mail to over 60 countries around the world. In order to meet those needs, we need to buy special international stamps, currently costing $1.45 EACH! We value our ability to reach anyone who needs our services, wherever they are.
Don’t forget to record your donation in our portal if you’re signed up as a Volunteer! Your donations enter you into our regular stamp donation drawing where you can win LAD merchandise. Click on “stamp donation” under our “hug” tab.
OTHER SUPPLIES CAN BE SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO US AS WELL
Boxes of envelopes are always welcome. We use standard letter size #10 with the peel off seal for easy stuffing. Costco offers a 500 count box with shipping directly to our post office for only $17!
We currently send out 8,500 cards yearly! We will happily accept birthday and holiday cards so we can wish each and every one of our special recipients a happy and healthy year ahead.
