Self-Care and Fun Fall Activities (Gayathri)

It’s officially fall, and the leaves have begun to turn red, orange, and yellow! Fall can be an extremely stressful time for many people because of school, college, jobs, or for any personal reasons. While you might be extremely busy, it is equally as important to take a break and practice self-care! Practicing self-care is important because it can reduce stress, prevent burn-out, and increase your energy according to the National Institute for Health. Below is a list of 10 fun self-care things to do during this fall season!

  1. Bake

    • Baking is such a fun activity because it allows for creativity and freedom to bake whatever you feel like eating! The smell of freshly baked cookies will definitely make your house smell amazing! 

  2. Light a Scented Candle 

    • Lighting a candle that smells like pumpkin pie or apple spice can make you feel cozy and it’s the perfect idea for a night in. 

  3. Spend time with friends or family 

    • Hanging out with friends or interacting with family members can bring up your mood and bring up your mood.  

  4. Listen to a Podcast 

    • Listening to podcasts while you go on a walk or while you sit at home can make you feel inspired and you may also learn something new!

  5. Take a walk 

    • Going out for a walk is an amazing way to reduce stress and anxiety. Also, the fall leaves are an  amazing sight to see!

  6. Embrace the Pumpkin Spice season 

    • If you enjoy drinking coffee, pumpkin spice may be your new favorite fall drink, and lift up your mood 

  7. Make a new bucket list 

    • There are less than 3 months left in the year, so it is the perfect time to redo your bucket lists, and maybe create another one!

  8. Binge watch your favorite TV shows or movies

    • Gilmore Girls is a popular TV show to watch during the fall season because of the fall vibes! There are also countless October movies to watch like Hocus Pocus and Casper!

Fall is such a beautiful and enjoyable season, and it is so important to take care of your mental health! Make sure to try one of these activities and have a great fall season!
